Elena DaFonte began her professional organizing journey in January of 2018, but her enthusiasm for organizing started back in 7th grade in Study Skills class. There she learned to eliminate distractions on her desk, make lists, and use a planner/calendar to manage homework and after school activities. Her favorite projects to tackle with clients are arts and crafts spaces, kitchens, and entryways. The bigger and more complex the mess, the more fun it is to problem-solve!
Elena holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northeastern University, and after working in a lab shortly after graduation, she spent nearly a decade as a preschool teacher. It was there that she really made the connection between a tidy, structured environment and how it affected the flow of the day. When things got quiet at school, you could always find her sneaking off into the shared storage spaces to spruce things up.
As a NAPO member, Elena holds specialist certificates in Residential Organizing, Life Transitions, and Household Management. She has been filling the role of Secretary for the NAPO New England chapter since 2020.
Fun facts about Elena: she absolutely loves being outdoors! From her own backyard, to the bike paths of Rhode Island, the beach, and mountains alike, there’s always something exciting to do all four seasons in New England. She is one of the organizers for the Providence Bike Jam, a safer streets advocacy group that holds a monthly light up party on wheels.
